After a long, annoying month of waiting to be deemed worthy of a Hulu beta invite, I finally got access this weekend. I was not disappointed. Hulu is the bizarre anti-Youtube lovechild of NBC-Universal and News Corp – basically an online video site for networks under those two umbrellas. You can watch full episodes and clips of shows on channels like NBC, Fox, FX, Bravo and Sci Fi, and there are even full seasons of older 20th Century Fox series like Buffy, Mary Tyler Moore and (wait for it) Doogie freakin’ Howser, M.D.! The potential for time wastage is limitless.

If you’re of a blogging persuasion, you can also edit the episodes and clips to embed wherever you please. The search function isn’t really up to par yet, but the usability and interface are pretty stellar. It makes up for the years and years of spiteful copyright regulations that have defined these two companies and made it so hard to enjoy the best moments from our favorite shows. To celebrate our newfound freedoms, here is possibly my favorite minute and a half from the last decade of Saturday Night Live… Look for Hulu to go public at some point in the next month or so.
